Edoardo Weiss
From a Jewish family in Trieste, and completely bilingual in both Italian and German, during his medical studies in Vienna he became closely acquainted with Freud, who suggested an analysis with Paul Federn. Having become a member of International Psychoanalytical Association, he practised the profession first in Trieste and then in Rome, founding the Italian Psychoanalytical Society in 1932.
Owing to the Fascist racial laws, in 1939 he emigrated to Chicago, where he worked on the promotion of Freud’s works published by Astrolabio between the late 1940s and early 1950s.
